The final video on Youtube.
I attended a livestream hosting a deep dive into a couple of the parts of the project I worked on. Really cool!
This project was pretty huge. Similar to the other big projects I handled much of the technical animation work as well as working on cinematic shots. Working closely with the animation and other dev teams involved to try to seamlessly integrate their work with little to no impact on the artists working on the shots themselves. The project also involved a lot of prop and vehicle rigging for animation including the; set exports and setup, prop rigging, ship control rigs including turrets and other vehicles like the Cyclone.
The cinematic shots I worked on were:
- The cockpit shots in the opening scenes
- The long single take shot with the car chase
The cockpit shots had some fun moments with the characters interacting with their surroundings (controls etc) while the long take was an awesome challenge! I worked closely with the animators on it to seamlessly blend their actions and plan in cut points where required. I also created the animation rig for the Cyclone for this sequence.
